I’m fresh off a Bahamian beach and feeling fantastic. Last week we sipped cocktails, watched the glassy green water sparkle beneath the sun, and marveled at the ambiance of a picture-perfect coastline at Taino Beach in Freeport, Bahamas. Nature inspires me, and as I twirled my toes in the warm frothy water, I couldn’t help but thank the earth for allowing me to mingle in all its majesty.
The Universe is kind.
Sometimes we forget that. We become so engrossed in routine, hastening on our hamster wheels. So we take vacations to recharge, allowing new scenery to encourage relaxation. But we don’t have to book a flight, pack a bag, or travel to a foreign country to let nature soothe our souls.
We can feel the energetic essence of nature as we gaze out our windows, notice a golden sheet of sunshine streaming in, or witness the wind’s fluid dance touching every bush and branch in view.
Lounging in my beach chair on that Grand Bahama Island, I felt humble yet significant, loved and embraced by the Universe. What a privilege to be alive with the creative force of life flowing through me. For a moment, I wished I could bottle that beauty and capture the calm that I felt as I observed the beach –as if it were a commodity. And then these simple thoughts occurred to me:
- Beauty is not a place, a person or a thing; it is a state of mind.
- The Universe is always available to amaze me, wherever I am.
Immerse yourself in nature via a photograph, memory, or a trip to your own backyard. Feel the energy of all the earth lifting you, caressing you, and supporting you in all your ways. Perhaps this sounds a bit ridiculous to some of you, but I encourage you to open yourself up to the gifts of the earth and take a soul vacation from the hectic pace of today (no travel necessary). Stop striving for a short time and breathe in the magic of this moment.
